Update to REI 90's Backpack (2025)

I purchased this backpack in the early 90's, and it is still in great condition.  It's a little too big as a day pack, and I would like to use it more for travel.  It just needs to be updated with a proper handle, and ability to slide it onto a suitcase for carry-on.

I found a handle online, some nylon strapping material, and these old jeans which should work for the ability to slide this pack onto my carry-on.

I could not figure out how to attach the denim to the back without hand stitching!

The handle was easier to figure out, and I was able to use some of the plastic attachment pieces already on the backpack to make it look like it was fully integrated from the very beginning.

This is going to work really well!
