Dining Chair Seat Pads (2025)

I've been trying to find the right chairs (and additional chairs - it's a big table) for our dining table for years.  I found (2) on a walk at our old house in The Colony for free and we've been using them for several years.  Recently I started looking for replacement chairs, and found some Crate & Barrel ones a guy was getting rid of.  No padding on the chairs, but I like the style better.

The chair covers I made for the Freebie chairs somewhat fit, and I have extra foam from my bench project, so I'll use what I have to make it work!

Needed to create a pattern first:

The leftover foam is long & skinny, so I bought some fabric tape to hold 2 pieces together for each cushion.

I also had leftover fabric for the bottom of the bench cushion (the stuff with the sticky bumps).  This will come in handy so the cushions do not slide around when someone sits on them.

The previous covers did not fit exactly...in fact I had to cut away a little bit of the blue fabric, but there were areas where additional fabric was needed.  Instead of trying to match it perfectly, I went with another scrap of yellow fabric that I had to fill in the spaces:

This green scrap was used for some straps to keep the fabric & cushion on the chair.

There is no shortage of buttons in my box of sewing "stuff"...

FINISHED!
