Gifts for Baby (2026)
This was such a fun project to make for our future granddaughter!
It all started with some vintage red "Aloha" fabric purchased on our trip to Hawaii in 2013. I found it at Bailey's Antiques & Aloha Shirts in Honolulu, one of my favorite vintage stores that I try to visit each time I am there. It is a flannel, and I found a minky cow print to go with it.
Actually, there are so many (too many!) choices of minky out there...it took me forever to decide!
I got extra fabric from the end of the bolt, which is how the Cow Pillow came to life, but the blanket was pretty basic to make.
On to the COW!!!
I was looking to make a "body pillow" for baby, but with the cute cow fabric I kept wanting to make a COW. I found this pattern on ETSY which is actually for a small bean bag toy. I had Barry enlarge it in Illustrator, and then I lengthened the body to use up the maximum amount of fabric I had left.
